River-Time (Riv'er-Time') adj . 1. A state of relaxation brought on by an abundance of natural beauty, adventure, and a clan of fun loving whitewater guides. 2. Highly contagious and healthy mental state known to cause successful men and women to leave their careers to become whitewater guides. 3. Where your next vacation could be.
Our goal is to bring each and every customer into a state of "River-Time". To do this, the Zoller staff has carefully crafted each detail of your Hell's Canyon Vacation to provide maximum enjoyment and relaxation. The following itinerary should paint a pleasant picture of what you can expect in our daily routines.
Evening Prior to Day One: Zoller's river guides lead a participant orientation held at the Pine Valley Lodge, Halfway Oregon 7:00 PM. Guests may choose to spend the night at the lodge or another establishment. The following morning, guests drive to Hell's Canyon dam to start their Hell's Canyon Adventure.
Each day on the river is a little different than the last, and the next, as we not just enjoy the whitewater, but explore the history, geology and wildlife of Hell's Canyon. Breakfast is served at 8:00ish, preceded by specialty coffee and a little pre-breakfast treat for those who have the hugries. Directly after breakfast, the Zoller staff breaks camp and loads up the rafts for a great day on the water. Each day gives us a chance to explore historic sites on the river with short hikes to pioneer cabins, Shoshone and Nez-Pierce pictographs, and silver mines. Lunch is prepared river side during our days rafting. Generally we exit the river for the day about 3:00, set up a relaxing and comfortable camp then settle in for the night. Dinner is served from 6:00 - 7:00 with some tasty horsdoeuvres ready for snacking once the kitchen is set up. Both three day and five day adventures wrap up about 3:00 on the final day.
